The UAM and PromoMadrid are offering 12 scholarships to lawyers from the region to train in China.

The rector of the Autonomous University of Madrid, José María Sanz, and the president of PromoMadrid, Jesus Sainz, presented the scholarship program PromoMadrid China-EU School of Law 2010.

Twelve fellowships will allow lawyers from the region not only the opportunity to train, but also establish useful contacts with institutions, companies and Chinese professionals. Eight of the scholarships are aimed at experienced professionals who are operating within the Community of Madrid and four young graduates in law from universities in the region.

Requirements for scholarship

Scholarship recipients may attend the course 'Fields Relevant for European Law in Chinese Foreign Investment in China', to be conducted during the month of April 2010 in the China-EU School of Law in Beijing. The course will be completed with a program of activities related to various aspects of legal and business world is that the participants learn the basics of Chinese law applicable to foreign investment. 

Applicants for scholarships must have experience in areas of Economic Law and International Law. Also assessed post-graduate studies and publications in the field of law. For young graduates, it is necessary to have obtained the title between 2007 and 2009, and have a remarkable academic record. In both cases you have to prove English proficiency. Applications can be submitted until February 12, and the granting of scholarships will be issued before 26 February 2010.
