Internship opportunities at the EBRD

Whilst the EBRD does not have a formal internship programme, we do have opportunities for Interns that arise on an ad hoc basis. These opportunities may be advertised in our current vacancies. However, if there is no current intern vacancy of interest, you may like to register for our job alerts or you may submit your CV using the link below.

If you choose to submit your CV, your profile will be added to our intern candidate pipeline for 12 months (or less if you do not remain available). Once you have submitted your CV, we will only contact you if a suitable position that matches your skills arises. If you do not hear from us, it means that no suitable opportunities have arisen.

Internship opportunities may arise for students of economics, banking and finance, business administration, law, human resources and the sciences. Applicants should normally be studying at a post-graduate level, or have just completed their undergraduate programme. Studies should either be in progress or have been completed within the last 12 months.

An intern opportunity would normally last between three and six months, depending on the requirements of a specific role.  Internships most often arise in the Banking Department, Office of the Chief Economist, Human Resources, Office of the General Counsel, Treasury and Risk Management.

The intern may be asked to work on a variety of tasks, including:

• Contributing to development projects

• Financial analysis

• Research for Banking teams in sectors and companies

• Researching and preparing reports on economic developments in our Countries of Operations

• Developing and maintaining databases

An internship would give the candidate an insight into the EBRD and its activities, and allow the candidate to apply the learning from their studies in a practical working environment. Most of our interships are on a full time basis, though there is flexibility to accommodate part time working.

The EBRD encourages applicants who have an understanding and interest in the mission of the Bank.

Eligibility

Candidates must be a national of one of our member countries (http://www.ebrd.com/about/basics/members.htm); have a good knowledge of both spoken and written English; and be able to obtain the necessary UK visa to allow for full time work.

We can provide support for visa applications to candidates who have been offered an internship.
