TI Internships (Berlin)

The TI Secretariat in Berlin is seeking a highly motivated intern to work on the Global Corruption Report, one of Transparency International’s flagship publications.

Transparency International (TI) is the global civil society organisation leading the fight against corruption. Through more than 90 chapters worldwide and an international secretariat in Berlin, Germany, TI raises awareness of the damaging effects of corruption and works with partners in government, business and civil society to develop and implement effective measures to tackle it.

Description of Internship

Main function: Assisting the Global Corruption Report team in all aspects of the production of the Global Corruption Report 2011 (GCR 2011) and the launch activities for the GCR 2010.
Starting Date: September 2010
Duration: Three months with possibility of extension to six months; full time Monday to Friday
Remuneration: EUR 400 net per month
Location: Berlin, Germany

Key responsibilities:

 

  • Assist with administration of incoming reports for the GCR 2011 on corruption in education and science
  • Manage the peer review process for the incoming reports for the GCR 2011
  • Contribute to and independently conduct background research for the GCR 2011
  • Assist with editing of reports for the GCR 2011
  • Assist with the fundraising activities for the GCR 2011
  • Assist with the production and compilation of support materials for the launch of the GCR 2010 on corruption and climate change.
  • Assist with the distribution of books for the GCR 2010 to national chapters and key stakeholders
  • Assist in drafting of impact assessment for GCR 2010
  • Other administrative tasks as required

 

Knowledge and experience

 

  • Excellent English language skills (working language at TI Secretariat)
  • Minimum undergraduate degree in political or social science, economics, law, education or related subject
  • Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent research and information synthesis skills
  • Excellent time management, ability to multi-task and work to tight deadlines
  • Editing experience (desirable)
  • Knowledge of French or Spanish (desirable)
