Georgetown Law Center provides students with a world of opportunities. They offer a variety of courses and seminars on domestic and international subjects. Topics range from international law, environmental law, comparative constitutional law and federal regulation of financial institutions, to British legal history and the law of cyberspace. Our program in clinical education, ranked among the best in the nation, offers a wide range of legal assistance to people facing eviction, to prisoners, to victims of domestic violence and to other vulnerable individuals. Our location puts us within walking distance of Congress, the Supreme Court and the Department of Justice. Most of the cases heard by the Supreme Court of the United States are mooted first here at the Law Center.
In addition to the wide variety of activities and opportunities available in Washington, D.C., the school has its own vibrant community centered on its residence hall, sport and fitness center, child care center and its enthusiastic students, faculty, staff and alumni. From Halloween trick-or-treating by children in the child care center to the annual Home Court basketball game between Law Center faculty and members of Congress, this is a community committed to both academic excellence and service to others.
